Description

“Only Love” is the title song from Noah Budin’s upcoming release of 16 new songs.

The hook in the song is “Only love will set us free” and, according to Noah, “The message isn’t exactly original. I mean, just about every songwriter and poet from antiquity on has said it in one way or another. Burt Bacharach and Hal David certainly hit big with it. The Beatles broadcast their version of it to over 400 million people worldwide via the first ever live global television link. I’m not putting myself in that category. I’ve just tried to say it in my own way, because it’s what I’ve really come to believe about how to live in this world.”

lyrics

Somebody like you
Somebody like me
Somebody like you and you and you and you can be
Somebody who builds
Somebody who mends
Somebody whose strength lies in the work
it takes to bend
Somebody whose strength lies in the work
it takes to bend

I may not know
How the world spins
It may not even matter who loses or who wins
‘Cause I don’t feel
The pull of power
And in the end amidst the rubble lies your tower
Yes in the end amidst the rubble lies your tower
Always in the end amidst the rubble lies your tower

Only Love
Only Love
Only Love
Will set us free

You count your money
You can climb your ladder
But in the end I know you know it just won’t matter
You can buy your votes
You can reach for fame
But you cannot count your blessings by how many
know your name
No you cannot count your blessings by how many
know your name
